I was looking around for a stand for my new Kindle Fire HD 8.9", This size Kindle Fire is quite heavy. I had bought a Bluetooth keyboard for it in a case which was ok to leave the Kindle Fire in for reading and playing games but I had to take out the keyboard to make the case slimmer to fit on the stand. The stand can safely hold a naked Kindle e-reader or Kindle Fire too. The pictures don't show how versatile it is. When I spotted this stand I knew the cost would not break the bank, if it would not work with my Kindles the way I wanted it too it could always serve in the kitchen. When it arrived in its basic Amazon box I used a knife to slice carefully along the white label stuck around the cardboard container and wondered how big it actually was as the box was small. The stand is of course folded up in the box and measures 7 inches L x 1 inch W x 1.25" deep. Small enough to slip in a medium/large handbag or backpack. The top part which has an Amazon emblem on the front end has a joint in the middle of its length. I lifted the part with the Amazon emblem on it up first by one notch at the front end, this I'll call the top piece. Underneath are the two base pieces, these move outwards to form a V shape. One notch out on each side makes the grooves 2.5" apart. Ideal for a Kindle Fires that are 7", the Basic Kindle, Touch and e-reader both portrait and landscape and along with the Kindle Keyboard just portrait. Moving the base pieces a notch more outwards on each side makes the gap measure 4.5" the maximum, which is perfect for a landscape Kindle Keyboard and the 8.9" Kindle Fire either landscape or portrait. The Top piece we have only lifted one notch at its front end up to now. Now if you lift the back part five notches so it is almost standing straight up but leaning forward with the front part of the top piece pointing straight up it is ideal for the Kindle Keyboard standing upright. The Kindle Keyboard like the Kindle Fires can have four way orientation but the orientation has to be manually set. Thus no problems with the position of its power socket. The 8.9" Kindle Fire is quite heavy but this stand can take it and with the stand on a firm flat surface I played Reversi, did some small jigsaws and played the Candy Crush Saga game. I cannot say the Kindle Fire did not move while I was touching and swiping the screen but it was in no danger of falling over. Likewise swiping the screen to turn pages. I tried out both sizes of Kindle Fires also A Basic, a Touch and the Kindle Keyboard e-readers ALL IN THEIR CASES, remember the 8.9 fire was in a thicker case. They all fitted in the grooves and did not slip even without their cases. The grooves and the underneath part of the upper part of the top piece have a layer of what feels like very, very dense small bubbled foam rubber, very smooth, which stops the Kindles sliding but also protects the Kindle devices themselves. Also covered are the underneath of the base pieces and there is a quite small piece on the bottom "heel" of the stand. If this perished I am sure something could be found to replace it and could be stuck on to the plastic. The flat parts of the top of the base pieces including a bit of the joint parts are 6" long and the top piece measures the same but remember it is jointed in the middle, both upper and lower parts of this top piece can be put in different positions. IT IS WONDERFULLY VERSATILE and I am already thinking what else it could be used for. It holds the 8.9" screened Kindle Fire beautifully both in portrait mode and landscape. The stand is black, the Kindle Fire is black and so is the case it lives in. It looked like a mini television as I watched BBCiplayer. None of the Kindle Fire's switches and speakers are covered by the plastic of the stand. Remember the case it is in is fairly chunky as it includes a thin Keyboard most of the time. I removed the keyboard and the case and KIndle Fire fitted safely on the stand. I could touch the screen to adjust things while the Fire was on the stand although it is would be best to get the volume right before choosing a TV channel and putting it on the stand. Power and Data socket - My preference is for a cable with USB one end and a right angled (90 degree) MicroUSB plug at the other instead of the straight ended plug that comes with the Kindle devices when they are first bought. Lindy 31976 - 1 metre USB 2.0 Cable - Type A to Micro-B - 90° angle £7-02. (The 2 Metre cable is 92p. more, there is a half meter cable at £6.82). The original white Kindle cable is nearly £10-00. With this stand the base pieces are three quarters of an inch high and thus are taller than the right angled plug so if the sockets are at the bottom of the device when the plug is pushed in the Kindle the cable is diverted neatly to the right of the device instead of coming straight forward out of the device and so is not pushing the Kindle backwards. Note. I use a 2 metre cable (6ft 6ins.) to plug the Kindle Fire into an Amazon USB charger plug in a mains socket while I am using the Kindle Fire indoors. The shorter one is great for data transfers and connections to a laptop USB socket. HDMI Socket - My TV does not have the corresponding socket so I don't use this socket and unfortunately the right handed MicroUSB end of the power cable obstructs the HDMI socket. Of course the Kindle Fire may be able to operate upside down for some apps. One good thing about the Kindle Fires is their orientation capability so you can always be sure that when they are on these stands that the sockets are clear in case you want to use them. And of course a Kindle standing on one of these stands while justbbeing charged is safer than flat on a shelf or where it could be stood on. I have two of the cables by Lindy, though there are cheaper to be found. One is one meter long and the other two metres long. The same company do make a half metre one too. Both are over £2. cheaper than the replacement e-reader cables. Well it's another long review but I hope I have explained how versatile the stand is and that it easily copes with the weight of the 8.9" Kindle Fire and the narrowness of a naked Basic Kindle e-reader. The stand is like an easel and makes viewing - especially of videos and streamed content in Landscape orientation - much more comfortable. It folds up into a small unit and then adjusts out through a series of firm click-stop graduations to potentially accommodate what I would imagine to be a wide range of devices; there's plenty of adjustment for large and small tablets. It is sturdy - and stabilises the device more than a folding cover. The price won't break the bank either, so it represents reasonable value because it is a good product. On the downside, Amazon - for the first time in the twelve years I have been buying from them - did not honour their estimated date of delivery; this item was two days late. That may be due to the mail struggling to get back to normal after the Christmas period - or it may be a sign that their supply chain is starting to slip a bit. However, at the end of the day, the delivery delay is no reflection on the item. Has it improved the use of my Kindle Fire HD? Yes, it has - and that's what counts. Therefore, if you want a table-top easel for your tablet - and are not in a breakneck hurry - then this is probably at least as good as any other solution, in my opinion.

Good, inexpensive tablet stand. Can hold a number of different sized phones/tablets and is adjustable - meaning your stand can be positioned to display your device at a number of angles. This is very convenient as it means it can be used for a number of different situations like watching a movie or using word processing software. The main problem with the stand is it's durability (or lack thereof!). On a few occassions the legs of the stand would come loose/fall off. Can be fixed by tightening the screws on the stand every once and a while when it becomes loose but this is not something you would expect you'd have to do with a tablet stand! Overall, a decent stand but could benefit from a higher build quality.

I'm a student at Oxford from the U.S. for the semester, and this is the second AmazonBasics Adjustable Tablet Stand I've bought; keep reading if you want to know why. I came here with my iPad and to my horror, I had forgotten the tablet stand. (among other things; I really must learn a more efficient/realistic way to pack) This thing deserves five stars and I'll tell you why: 1. It works with my kindle, my partner's kindle fire, my iPad, my iPhone, certain books, and just about anything I want to lean on it. The list goes on. 2. It's sturdy-- no longer must I live in fear that my iPad (or other sensitive device) will tip over to its death all because I wanted to watch netflix. 3. It's compact; it pops down into nearly nothing in the blink of an eye, making it easy to transport (you know, when you remember it) 4. It's affordable. I'm not sure you've priced tablet stands, but cruddy ones cost more than they should in most cases. So when I arrived in this lovely country and discovered that I'd left my tablet stand back in the states, I logged on and ordered another one because it works that well and I like it that much. My partner appreciated my forgetfulness-- because now he has my old one. Buy this now.

Really love this stand for reducing neck strain and making working with a tablet more pleasant. The stand quickly closes up and fits in my bag, then snaps open in seconds when I reach where I'm going. Great recipe stand too. Works landscape or portrait equally well.

Excellent little monitor stand. Holds my 1.75kg 15.6" portable monitor steady, folds up easily, is pretty chunky so won't bend or break easily as far as I can see. Expensive piece of plastic but does the job !

Beide wurden blitzschnell geliefert und zwar in einem absoluten Minikarton, weil sich der Ständer ganz klein machen kann im Ruhezustand. Ausgepackt zeigt der Winzling sein wahres Gesicht: die beiden Beinchen halb oder ganz abspreizen, die hintere Stütze teilweise oder im Ganzen hochklappen und schon ist er ein total stabiles Allroundtalent für alles was man nach Wunsch mehr oder weniger schräg aufstellen will. Esta bien con relación calidad/precio, el material es de plástico que se siente resistente, lo puedes utilizar con una tableta o con un celular grande, es muy práctico ya que lo puedes acomodar de varias formas (varias inclinaciones), tiene unas plásticos en la parte de abajo para que no se resbale en superficies lisas, otra cosa buena es que lo puedes plegar completamente para guardarlo y no ocupar mucho espacio. Sí lo recomiendo, después de 1 año de uso estoy convencido. Lo único que tienes que considerar en contra de otros, es el espacio que necesitas para que lo puedas poner en alguna superficie, ya que, por el diseño que tiene ocupa mas superficie que algunos que son de otro tipo.
